Gallivan Burwell,

Force-free dog training and behavior adjustment specializing in shy and fearful dogs.

Why Choose
Upward Dog?

Gallivan Burwell is a graduate of the renowned Academy for Dog Trainers in San Francisco, and the only trainer in New Orleans to have attained the "Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed" and "Certified Behavior Counselor Canine -Knowledge Assessed" credentials from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. He has trained thousands of dogs without using force or fear. He can help with:

Shy & Fearful Dogs

Whether your dog is cautious of new people, terrified of trucks & loud noises, afraid of stairs & other surfaces, or just plain fearful, we can help him learn that the world is a safe place.

Puppy Training & Socialization

You've got a new puppy and now is the time to establish good habits and create positive associations with people, other animals, handling and more.

Manners Training

Let's teach your dog the basics that will help him fit harmoniously into your life: sit, down, stay, come when called, leave it, loose leash walking, attention, and more!

Problem Behaviors

Is your dog chewing up your furniture? Jumping up on visitors? Mouthing when excited? Having potty accidents in the house? Growling around his food bowl? I can help.
